File uploads

Send customers a File Share link from Messages so they can upload full-resolution photos and PDFs in the browser — without MMS compression.

Share a link from Messages

  1. Open the conversation

    Go to Messages and open the SMS thread with your customer.

  2. Send File Share

    Tap + next to the reply box and choose File Share. Pathline texts them a link using your business line (default message: “Share your files with us:” plus the URL).

  3. Customer uploads

    They open the link on their phone or computer, pick files, and upload. New files show up in the thread for your team. You also get an email when uploads finish.

Allowed file types

Customer upload links accept:

  • JPEG, PNG, and GIF images
  • PDF documents
  • Video — MP4, MOV (QuickTime), and WebM

WebP is not supported. Each file can be up to 100 MB. A single link accepts up to 100 files total.

When links expire

  • Each File Share link stays active for 7 days from when it is created.
  • If you send File Share again in the same SMS thread before the link expires, Pathline reuses the active link instead of creating a new one.
  • After expiry, the customer sees that the link is invalid. Send a fresh File Share from Messages to get a new link.
  • The upload page shows the expiration date and time while the link is still valid.

Uploaded files count toward workspace storage. See Storage for how usage is calculated, what appears under Messages, and where to browse or delete files in Account → Storage.

Customize the upload page

Optionally set your logo, company name on the browser tab, and the SMS intro text Pathline sends with the link on the File Upload settings page (sign in first).
