QuickBooks Online
Connect QuickBooks Online to Pathline to pull customers into Contacts. This is a one-way sync: Pathline reads from QuickBooks and creates contacts. Nothing is written back to QuickBooks. See Connectors to connect your company.
What this connector does
- Pull only. Pathline reads Customers from QuickBooks. We never create, update, or delete records in QuickBooks.
- Create new contacts only. If a customer’s phone number is not already in Pathline, we add a Contact. If that phone already exists, we skip it. We do not overwrite name, email, company, or address.
- No update or delete sync. Changing a customer in QuickBooks does not update Pathline. Deleting or deactivating a customer in QuickBooks does not remove the Contact. Pathline does not act on QuickBooks update or delete events.
How phone numbers are chosen
Each Contact is keyed by phone number (normalized to E.164). We pick one number per QuickBooks customer in this order:
-
Phone (Primary)
If the customer has a primary phone number, that is used.
-
Mobile
If there is no primary phone, we use the mobile number.
If neither field has a usable phone number, the customer is skipped and no Contact is created.
Connect QuickBooks
-
Open Connectors
In Pathline, go to Connectors and expand QuickBooks Online.
-
Connect
Click Connect QuickBooks, sign in with Intuit, and authorize your QuickBooks Online company (use a sandbox company when testing with Development keys).
-
Initial import
After you connect, Pathline pulls existing Customers and creates Contacts for any new phone numbers.
-
Ongoing creates
When a new Customer is created in QuickBooks, Pathline can add them automatically (webhook). You can also click Sync now anytime to pull again. Sync is still create-only for phones you don’t already have.
What gets stored on a new Contact
- Full name (Display Name, or first + last)
- Phone (as above)
- Email and company, when present
- Billing address (street, city, state, ZIP), when present
